Marine Results are continuing to grow their operations around the world. The company, which mobilises teams to the dockside of each superyacht and grand prix yacht project, has been fielding eight teams in seven separate locations over the mid-October week.
Projects Manager Ben Porteous, who remains in the Hamble, UK headquarters office with his admin team reports “We are coordinating 16 active Marine Results rigging and NDT specialists at large on some of the world’s largest superyacht rigs, and that is not counting the team that remains here in the UK carrying out regular NDT inspections and rigging supply.”
Director Jon Morris is leading a team of three in San Diego carrying out annual service and rig inspection to M5 formerly Mirabella V, the world’s largest sloop. Fellow director Ed Danby also has a team of three in Palma, Mallorca to service the rigs on three well known superyachts Prana, La Cattiva, and Salute.
In Trinidad inspection and analysis consultant Ben Pierrepont is carrying out a pre-purchase NDT survey of maxi 80 Idea. Giles Waterhouse, who heads the NDT division and two additional personnel are doing a similar inspection in Palma but this time due to Swan 125 Mystery being struck by lightning, necessitating the addition survey of her electrical and electronics systems.
Simon ‘Spoons’ Fairman is at the company’s Mediterranean base in La Ciotat overseeing the rod rigging and four year service on the 40m Dubois yacht Valquest.
“Our largest and most distant project,” says Ben “is in Thailand, where our third director Ben Wood is supervising the rig construction of a unique traditionally styled wooden ‘phinisi’, a 65 metre Indonesian sailing ketch, named Lamima, in a four month project.”
Marine Results has experienced significant expansion in the past two to three years, which is reflected in the number of riggers now employed by the company. “As the world’s superyacht fleet continues to expand, our formula of taking our expert teams to the dockside in every corner of the world and supplying components where needed, appears to be successful in helping to grow our company,” concludes Ben Porteous.
