Marine Results are celebrating the first five years of becoming the official main service agent for Seaway Powell, whose robust winch and hydraulic systems are still found on hundreds of large ocean-going yachts and commercial vessels including UK Ministry of Defence vessels and RNLI lifeboats. Although Seaway Powell systems are no longer manufactured the quality of their engineering means that owners and ship operators can expect to get many more decades of use out of them, and that will mean periodic servicing.
The servicing requirements are highly customized, and only Marine Results holds the blueprints for the original product line, which includes hydraulic systems, large captive winches, runner winches, capstans, hydraulic cylinders, traveller systems, and windlasses.

We’ve just given a complete overhaul to the Seaway Powell equipment on board a 100ft sailing yacht. The five captive and two runner winches were removed and returned to Hamble for a full strip down, service, rebuild and function test. Due to the fact we have all the original drawings we were able to manufacture new components to replace any found to be worn or damaged. For the same yacht we have just serviced a Seaway Powell traveller system. All the components will be re-installed to give many more years of service.
