Rigging and NDT specialists Marine Results has made a key new appointment, recruiting Jim Vintner as in-house surveyor.
The company, which specialises in providing rig work and inspection consultancy to the superyacht and racing yacht sector has seen a steady growth in business in the survey and inspection division.
Jim brings to the company many years of yacht repair management experience. He was previously operations manager at Osmotech for eleven years, building a comprehensive understanding of boat construction methods and repair assessment and analysis.
At Marine Results Jim will join the international team of riggers and inspectors, focussing on insurance surveys and boat damage assessment. He will operate primarily in the UK but will attend inspections in the Mediterranean, the US and the Caribbean. In the past couple of months Jim has been the overseeing surveyor for a 60ft yacht damaged by fire in southern Spain and a 38ft classic sailing ketch which suffered impact damage resulting in main mast damage. Jim is currently awaiting membership of YBDSA (Yacht Brokers, Designers and Surveyors Association).
Ed Danby, Director of Marine Results comments “It is a natural step up for us at Marine Results to appoint a surveyor who can carry out assessments on any vessel in the UK and worldwide. We are very pleased to have secured Jim’s services, since he has such an extensive depth of knowledge.”
Jim’s experience is founded on his earlier career, skippering prestige sailing yachts for a number of years.
Marine Results has developed its rig inspection capabilities into a broader range of services and carries out damage surveys and inspections including NDT (non-destructive testing) for hull, deck, internal structures, keel and other structural inspections as well.
