Marine Results International continues to stand behind world class sailing pair Megan Brickwood and Steph Orton as they head towards their goals in the 49er FX Olympic dinghy class. Despite narrowly missing selection for the 2020 (now 2021) Olympic Games, Meg and Steph are champing at the bit to get back on the water and start training again, in the hope that the 49er Europeans will go ahead.
Originally planned to take place in Italy this month, the event is one of several that have been postponed until further notice. Instead, the pair will be training back in the UK as much as they can and now have their eyes firmly fixed on the next Olympics.
“As sailors we know the importance of adaptability”, comments Meg on their Facebook page. “We train to prepare for the challenges, the unknown and the what ifs. We also feel the struggle of it all. But it is important to stay positive, help those around you and ensure that you are doing everything you can to maintain healthy – both in the body and mind.”
