La Cattiva
Marine Results completed a milestone rig refit to the 122ft (38m) luxury cruising superyacht La Cattiva. The contract was completed from start to finish in 121 days, as predicted, and the rig was built in 14 weeks
The Ed Dubois design, originally Taramba, was the first superyacht to be built at Pendennis shipyard. Her rig has been completely replaced in a far reaching turn-key package, project managed by Marine Results. Following a survey a full rig replacement went ahead, to include deck gear, winches, hydraulics, running rigging, and new sails - a job of industrial proportions for a sailing yacht of this size.
Ocean Leopard
Marine Results was responsible for unstepping the rig of Ocean Leopard in preparation of her shipping to Australia to take part in the Sydney Hobart Race 2007, where she finished second overall.
Rambler
In 2007 Marine Results serviced and re-fitted the rig of racing 90 footer Rambler, as well as undertaking an NDT inspection of rigging components. This yacht has complex carbon rigging, Element C6, supplied by Southern Spars. The yacht went on to gain second over the line in the 2007 Fastnet Race and also went on to gain overall victory, line honours and the course record of the 2007 Rolex Middle Sea Race.
Matelot
Sleek Farr designed cruising maxi Matelot underwent a complete mast service, hydraulic service and NDT inspection as well as the supply of new running rigging. Matelot went on to take line honours in the 2007 ARC rally.
Maltese Falcon
At 88 metres Maltese Falcon is officially the world's largest sailing yacht and Marine Results has an ongoing contract to maintain and inspect her rigs. We have carried out visual inspection of her three masts and yards, as well as supplying bespoke lifting strops to her tenders.
Pink Gin - Baltic 97
Marine Results carried out a four year service involving mast inspection and retune, removal of fittings, re-painting and replacement, re-stepping of the mast, tuning, lashing on of new sails, and sailing trials. We also serviced the hydraulics and supplied running rigging.
Hugo Boss - Open 60
A technical programme was undertaken for skipper Alex Thomson, following the tough single handed Vendee Globe 2004 race around the world. Essential maintenance of key mast components, headstay and mainsail track was carried out. A specialist Magnetic Particle Inspection was made of keel.
Mirabella V - 287ft (75.22m) custom sloop
This enormous and challenging project involved all aspects of the assembly, stepping and setting up of the largest ever sloop rigged spar, measuring 290ft (88.5m) starting in December 2003, and continuing with installation work over the following five months. Projects included attachment of the hydraulic vang ram to the boom, and placing the huge mainsail into the boom. Mast and rigging was set to designers’ specification and we undertook sail trials, observations and final inspection. On-site planning and solutions were a strong feature of Marine Results’ capability. Service continues for ongoing requirements.
Timoneer - 147ft (44.75m) modern ketch
A service project for this custom rig included removal of the head stay, and replacing the foils with a new Reckmann system. An annual inspection was carried out, lowering the mast off a jack, inspecting the rod seating of the vertical and diagonal shrouds, and a full re-tune of the main and mizzen masts.
Fortuny Barcos - 80ft (24.48m)
This state of the art 80ft cruiser/racing has an advanced carbon rig. Marine Results worked in association with the yacht’s rig supplier Marten Spars carrying out onsite installation, initial set up, tuning, stepping and sailing trials.
Zefiro - Solaris 76
Marine Results worked with Marten Spars carrying out onsite installation, initial set up, tuning, stepping and sailing trials.
Working with Lewmar we also installed a hydraulic sail handling system on this long distance luxury cruiser designed by Doug Peterson. A continuous service will be maintained for annual inspection and re-tuning.
GBR - America’s Cup
The America’s Cup Challenger GBR commissioned Marine Results to re-design and install a custom hydraulic system to meet rule changes and ongoing development. Marine Results has also provided a loading and lashing service as part of the transportation requirement.
Corel 45s
All the rod heads of four Corel 45 racing rigs were inspected using the specialised NDT Liquid Penetrant inspection system . Standing rigging was manufactured and refurbished prior to world level competition.
Prada - America’s Cup
The Italian America’s Cup team, challengers in 2000, were assisted by Ben Wood of Marine Results, who managed the shipping logistics of this and subsequent movements of the campaign’s yachts and spars. |
